Back to town procedure

harkirat singh

Dear Sir,

We have exported some containers to Australia. Buyer find some packing issues and asked us to take change packing.

All the containers were cleared from customs from ICD Sonepat(INBDM6), and these container were railed out to Pipavav seaport for vessel sailing. When we come to know about that there is some packing issue in these containers we asked shipping line to hold these container at Pipava Seaport.

These container are stuffed at factory under self-sealing procedure.

Now we have to bring these container back to our factory situated at sonepat, Haryana.

We have paid security amount to shipping line and they have given us NOC for these containers to bring back to town.

We approached custom department at ICD Sonepat, Haryana, they are not accepting our documents for back to town procedure. They are asking that we have to approach Pipavav Customs to get NOC and complete formalities to move these containers from back to town.

Kindly advise, back to town procedure for these containers. Now we come to know that there is 20 – 25 days back log for movement of container via rail to ICD Sonepat.

Regards

Harkirat Singh

Company Faces Delays as Customs Requires Additional NOC for Returning Export Containers Due to Packing Issues A company exported containers to Australia, but due to packing issues, the buyer requested changes. The containers, cleared from ICD Sonepat and sent to Pipavav seaport, need to be returned to the factory in Sonepat. Although the shipping line provided an NOC, the customs department at ICD Sonepat requires an NOC from Pipavav Customs to proceed. There is a backlog for container movement via rail to Sonepat. Respondents advised following the procedure as explained by ICD Sonepat and obtaining the necessary NOC from Pipavav Customs, as well as notifying the division office that issued the LUT.
