Rate of GST on Chapter 8418

Manish Sulakshane

Dear Sir,

We are manufacturing Finned tube Heat exchangers used in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industries.

We manufacture Evaporators ( Coolers ), Condensers which were under the Chapter 8418.

Earlier our product was attracting GST @28% and in the recent GST Council meeting as well as in news papers we have been informed that most of the items under 28% have been reduced to 18% to be implemented from 15.11.2017.

We are waiting for the official notification which is still not out and would request you to kindly advise how we should sell our Products ( HSN 8418 ) at 28% GST or 18% GST?

Await your assistance please.

GST Rate for Finned Tube Heat Exchangers, Evaporators, Condensers Remains at 28% Despite Reduction Reports A query was raised regarding the GST rate applicable to Finned tube Heat exchangers, Evaporators, and Condensers classified under Chapter 8418. Initially taxed at 28%, there were reports of a reduction to 18% following a GST Council meeting. The inquirer sought confirmation on whether to apply the 28% or 18% rate, pending an official notification. Two responses confirmed that there was no change in the tax rate, maintaining it at 28%.
