CLEARANCE OF MACHINERY TO DISPLAY IN EXHIBITION

SURYAKANT MITHBAVKAR

Earlier Law we have cleared machinery with payment of duty for exhibiton purpose.

Now under GST law what procdure to adopt pl advice.

Clearing Machinery for Exhibition: GST Rules for Import, Export, and In-State Display Explained. Refund Claims for IGST. A discussion on the procedure for clearing machinery for exhibition under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) law involves a query about whether the machinery is for import or export. If importing, the existing procedure remains unchanged. For exporting, GST must be paid with a subsequent refund claim for IGST. For displaying machinery within the same state, it's clarified that this is not considered a supply, and goods can be moved using a challan. Tax is payable only if the goods are disposed of. The FAQ on the jewelry sector provides guidance on such exhibition-related issues. (AI Summary)

Is it for import of the goods sent for exhibition abroad or is it for exporting the goods abroad for exhibition.

If it is import - No change in the procedure. (Same old procedure to be followed).

If it is export - Please pay GST and claim refund of IGST.
