SHIPPING BILLS LEO DATE 01 OCT 2015 AFTER IN SHIPPING BILLS REWARD SCHME 'NO'. THIS SHIPPING BILLS NOT APPLYING IN MEIS SCHEME.PLS SOLUTION TO CLEAR ME

MEIS eligibility requires an EDI shipping bill marked 'Y' as declaration of intent to claim benefits. MEIS eligibility turns on an exporter's electronic declaration of intent: marking the EDI shipping bill with Y constitutes the requisite declaration to claim MEIS rewards. An EDI shipping bill marked 'NO' or lacking the Y marking does not satisfy the procedural requirement and is not eligible for MEIS claims. (AI Summary)

Vide Public Notice No. 09/2015-2020 the Hon’ble DGFT had prescribed the Procedure for Declaration of Intent on EDI and Non EDI shipping bills for claiming rewards under MEIS. It was also clarified that Marking of Y in the EDI generated Shipping Bills by Exporters would be treated as declaration of intent to claim MEIS benefit. In our view you cannot file MEIS against such S/B.
