CENVAT Credit Confirmed for 12.50% Excise Duty on Control System Purchase Under SHIS Licence, Notification No. 33/2012. A query was raised regarding the eligibility to avail a 12.50% excise duty under a specific SHIS Licence for a 'Control System- 90328100 Hydrogen Pressure Reducing Station' purchase, removed under Central Excise Notification No: 33/2012. The response clarified that CENVAT Credit can indeed be availed, as the SHIS is a scrip provided by the DGFT for duty payment on domestic sourcing or import of capital goods, as specified in Notification No. 33/2012. Dear,

Yes, you can avail the CENVAT Credit as the SHIS is scrip given by DGFT for payment of Duty on Domestic sourcing of capital goods, spares (10% of Licence value) or against Import of Capital Goods (CVD & SAD Portion only),

Notification No. 33/2012- clearly specify the said provisions.
