Asked by
Duty exemption eligibility for suppliers exporting under CT 1: exemptions possible if named as supporting manufacturer in shipping bill.
Whether a supplier of finished goods exported against Form CT 1 may claim duty exemption schemes. Advisories indicate the supplier can claim exemptions if the supplier's name appears in the shipping bill as a supporting manufacturer and by following the conditions of the relevant circular, though a contrary view says CT 1 removals bar such benefit. (AI Summary)

Dear Sir,

We are purchasing the finished goods (pharmceuticals) from an manufacturer against Form CT1, we are not availing any duty exemption like advance license etc, can the supplier can avail any kind to duty exemption schemes like advance license against our export.

Sir,

Supplier can avail duty exemptions schemes as opined by Mr Thakkar , if the supplier who sends goods for export on the basis of CT-1 so desires, in view of CBEC Circular No.120/1995-Cus as amended by 30/2005-Cus.
