Excise Return Applicablity

Date 26 Mar 2015

Turnover threshold breach requires switching from quarterly to monthly excise returns from the month of breach.
When local (non-export) turnover exceeds the prescribed threshold in a given month, the assessee must begin monthly excise returns in Form E.R.1 from that month, with each monthly return due on or before the tenth day of the following month. For months prior to the month of crossing the threshold, quarterly returns in Form E.R.3 may be filed, accompanied by a remark stating the month of threshold breach and that monthly filing in Form E.R.1 has commenced thereafter. No definitive penalty guidance is offered in the text. (AI Summary)

i have a query. currently we were filing ER3 exsie returns. but in the f.y.2014-15 our local turnover has reached up to 4 crores. do we have to file the same kind of returns even now or we need to file ER1 returns?
