Packing Material as Input Under Rule 2(k) of Cenvat Credit Rules 2002: Export to Nepal Possible Without Duty Payment. A query was raised regarding whether packing material is considered an input under Rule 2(k) of the Cenvat Credit Rules 2002, effective from April 1, 2011. The question also asked if such packing material could be exported to Nepal without duty payment under a Letter of Undertaking (LUT). The response advised referring to Notification 42/2001 for the procedure, confirming that packing material can indeed be exported under bond. (AI Summary)
