TDS ont certification fee paid to Bureo of Indian Standard

Pradeep Jain

Dear Sir,

We have been paying  certification fee to BIS . The same is  covered under Government Body.

Do we need to deduct TDS on payment of certification fees.

Regards

Pradeep Jain

TDS on certification fees: withholding is required when paying certification fees to the standards body. Payment of certification fees to the Bureau of Indian Standards attracts a TDS obligation; payers must deduct tax at source at the applicable rate when making such certification-fee payments to BIS.
