Export Queries: Can Capital Goods Imported Duty-Free Be Sold or Rented After Meeting Export Obligations? A query was raised regarding the criteria for exporting goods manufactured using capital goods imported without paying customs, excise, and additional duties, totaling 40 lakhs. The discussion focused on whether the machinery could be sold or rented after fulfilling export obligations. Responses highlighted the need to refer to the Handbook of Procedures, Chapter 5, and emphasized that the EPCG license number must be mentioned on shipping bills. It was advised that the capital goods cannot be removed until export obligations are met, or penalties may apply. Endorsements from DGFT and guidance from the Excise Range Office were recommended.
