Taxability of Gift

Please tell me the tax implication of gift received from biological brother ( i.e. brother by birth )

 

The issue is, that  one of my client who was adopted by her uncle now received a gift from his real brother i.e. brother by birth.

In my opinion it is coming under the definition of 'relative' from whom the gift receivable is exempted from tax.
