Agricultural income classification: processed crop products like jaggery treated as non-agricultural and taxable on sale.
Jaggery produced from a cultivator's own sugarcane and sold in the market does not fall within the statutory definition of agricultural income; because the activity involves value adding processing into a marketable product, receipts from its sale are taxable rather than exempt agricultural income. (AI Summary)

Please help me . Jaggery Income is taxable or exempted ? A person is cultivating the sugarcane then he produces jaggery from his own sugarcane then he sells that produced jaggery in market . Is this income from jaggary sales taxable under income tax ?

Yes, to my view it would be taxable as it does not satisfy the condition of section 2(1A) of the Income Tax Act.
