Price undertaking can trigger suspension of anti-subsidy investigations if injurious effect is eliminated and monitoring ensured. Acceptance of an undertaking from an exporting government or exporters to withdraw or limit a subsidy, or to revise prices so as to eliminate injurious effect, allows the designated authority to suspend or terminate an anti-subsidy investigation provided a preliminary determination of subsidization and injury exists and exporter undertakings have the exporting country's consent. The authority must notify the Central Government, issue a public notice, monitor compliance through information and verification, and may recommend provisional measures and limited retroactive definitive duties on violation; undertakings are subject to periodic review.
