Export Oriented Unit authorisation regulates approvals, permitted imports, NFE compliance and monitoring under the foreign trade procedure.

The scheme prescribes application, approval, validity, extension and exit procedures for EOUs, EHTPs, STPs and BTPs through Letters of Permission/Intent issued by Development Commissioners or designated officers, subject to Units Approval Committee, BOA and designated agencies. Units must execute a Legal Undertaking, maintain electronic contact details and file periodic digitally signed reports. Permitted imports, domestic procurement, use and timelines are defined; input consumption follows Standard Input Output Norms with provisional self-declared norms allowed. Net Foreign Exchange compliance, monitoring by committees and time-bound disposal of permissions are mandatory.
