of <h1>Foreign Trade Policy clarifies LOP/LOI extension limits for EOU/BTP/EHTP/STP units under Paras 6.34(h) and 6.01(c)</h1> Public Notice No. 34/2025-26 amends Para 6.34(h) of Chapter 6 of the Handbook of Procedure 2023 under the Foreign Trade Policy 2023. The amendment authorizes the extension, as per para 6.01(c) of the HBP, of (i) the validity period of LOP/LOI after commencement of production for up to five years at a time, and (ii) the initial two-year validity period of LOP/LOI by one additional year for valid recorded reasons, except where initial approval is specifically restricted (such as oil refinery projects). The change aims to clarify and streamline administrative processes for extending LOP/LOI for EOU/BTP/EHTP/STP units.
