<h1>New SION Guidelines for Cotton Knitted Fabrics: Input Quantities and Permissible Wastage Explained</h1> The Standard Input-Output Norms (SION) for the production of bleached, dyed, or printed cotton knitted fabrics, with or without elaston, lycra, or spandex yarn, as per the Foreign Trade Policy. It specifies the input quantities required per kilogram of cotton material in the export product: 1.10 kg of 100% cotton yarn, 1.05 kg of elaston/lycra/spandex yarn, 0.015 kg of dyes, 0.01 kg of silicon emulsion (not for dyed or printed products), 0.005 kg of optical whitener, and 0.02 kg of hydrogen peroxide for white or printed goods. An additional 1% wastage is permissible for plied yarn.
