Export rules for animal-origin products: most allowed, some restricted or prohibited with specific authorization and certification requirements
Chapter sets export rules for animal-origin products: most items are freely exportable, some are restricted or prohibited. Exports of wild animals, their parts/products and species covered by wildlife/CITES laws are prohibited unless specific ownership/research exemptions apply and where permitted require a restricted export authorization. Shipments of pig bristles, bone and related products to the EU require consignment-wise shipment clearance from an authorized export body and a post-shipment production/health certificate issued jointly with the animal quarantine authority. Human hair exports are prohibited unless FOB = USD 65/kg. Specific items prohibited include peacock feathers, antlers, human skeletons and certain protected shells.
