of <h1>India Rescinds Customs Duty Exemption on Jute Products from Bangladesh and Nepal Effective February 2022.</h1> The Government of India, through Notification No. 8/2011-Customs dated February 14, 2011, exempted jute products imported from Bangladesh and Nepal from additional customs duty under specified headings of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. This exemption was enacted under the powers conferred by the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest. The notification was later corrected and amended to include additional headings and countries. However, this exemption was rescinded by Notification No. 05/2022-Customs, effective February 2, 2022.
