<h1>Leprosy and Tuberculosis Projects in Bombay Get Extended Approval u/s 35AC of Income-tax Act, 1961.</h1> The Central Government has specified the detection, treatment, and cure of leprosy and tuberculosis patients under urban control projects, along with the operation of an Integrated Healthcare Project by ALERT-INDIA in Bombay, as eligible projects under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially approved for three years starting in the 1995-96 assessment year, the project's cost was increased from Rs. 190.32 lakhs to Rs. 270.02 lakhs. The approval was extended for another three years beginning in the 1998-99 assessment year. The project is now further extended for three years starting with the 2001-2002 assessment year.
