<h1>Central Government Updates Subsidy Scheme for North East MSMEs; Aligns Definitions with MSME Act 2006. Benefits Until March 2017.</h1> The Central Government has amended the Central Capital Investment Subsidy Scheme, 2007, applicable to the North Eastern Region, effective immediately. Under the amendment, the definition of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is aligned with the classification under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006. For MSMEs, subsidies are now available for additional investments in plant and machinery during substantial expansions, with a ceiling of Rs. 3.00 crore for manufacturing and Rs. 1.50 crore for the services sector. These benefits are available until the scheme's operation ends on March 31, 2017.
