Summary: Whether loss to a basement is flood or excluded as continuous seepage turned on contemporaneous survey findings, meteorological and press records, and the scope and timing of engineering reports. The insurer's belated reassessment, commissioned without new material facts, reduced the probative weight of its later report, while early survey evidence indicating inundation from heavy rainfall was treated as more persuasive on causation and coverage.

Summary: MOOWR permits import of capital goods and inputs into bonded warehouses without upfront customs duty, deferring duty until goods enter the domestic market; duty on inputs used in exported finished goods and on re exported capital goods is waived, and no interest is charged on deferred raw material duty when goods are sold domestically. Operational requirements include filing bills of entry for warehousing, segregated FIFO inventory, input output declarations, appointment of a warehouse keeper, monthly returns, and separate home consumption bills of entry corresponding to each import consignment upon DTA sale.

Summary: Cancellation of GST registration for non existence at the declared place requires independent verification, inspection of premises where appropriate, and consideration of documentary evidence such as invoices and photographs; authorities must also afford the registrant a hearing. If cancellation was effected without such verification, the assessing authority should reconsider the matter, inspect the premises if necessary, evaluate the documents presented by the registrant, and take a fresh decision in accordance with procedural fairness.

Summary: Safeguard duty is a temporary protection imposed where an unforeseen surge in imports causes or threatens serious injury to a domestic industry. A petitioner must show increased import volume, material injury, and a causal link excluding other factors. Authorities undertake staged investigations-preliminary (with possible provisional duties) and detailed fact-finding-examining import volumes, prices, production and employment. Where conditions are met, a tariff surcharge (specific or ad valorem) may be applied across imports, subject to temporal limits and periodic review under a sunset regime.

Summary: Anti-dumping duty imposes a tariff on imports sold below normal value to protect domestic producers. The process requires a complaint alleging dumping and injury, a preliminary phase that may impose provisional duties, and a full investigation calculating normal value, export price, and dumping margin. Authorities must find dumping, material injury, and causation before imposing duties, which are time-limited and subject to sunset review to assess extension, modification, or termination.

Summary: Sustainability requires integrating environmental, social and economic pillars so present needs are met without compromising future generations. Environmentally, priorities include transitioning to renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, conserving biodiversity, reforestation and reducing waste through recycling, composting and circular economy measures. Socially, ensuring equitable access to water, food, education and healthcare, addressing poverty and promoting public health and education are essential. Economically, green technologies, sustainable and regenerative agriculture, corporate transparency and responsible supply chains are presented as means to achieve growth that does not deplete resources, reinforced by individual actions and multilevel collaboration.

Summary: India declined RCEP because tariff liberalization threatened to worsen trade deficits and harm domestic manufacturers and farmers; negotiators identified inadequate safeguards, weak rules of origin, and limited services liberalization as key structural deficiencies, while strategic considerations and a self-reliance policy favored bilateral engagements and capacity building, with the pact leaving open future accession.
      By: YAGAY andSUN
Summary: Artificial intelligence augments legal and tax practice by accelerating review of legislation, case law, and notifications, improving compliance and due diligence, reducing human error, and delivering real time regulatory updates. Customizable AI tailors outputs to industry and jurisdictional needs, offering practical mitigation approaches while preserving professional judgment for strategy and client advice.
      By: YAGAY andSUN
Summary: The article urges a coordinated approach to Curtail Unnecessary Imports that displace MSMEs by expanding restricted import lists, strengthening country-of-origin labeling and product standards, and using anti-dumping and customs surveillance against substandard entries; concurrently it calls for widening production-linked incentives, technology and design support, affordable credit, cluster development, dedicated market channels for MSMEs, and consumer awareness measures including a voluntary Swadeshi Seal to sustain domestic substitution and manufacturing resilience.

Summary: India urged dismantling export controls among BRICS members and elimination of restrictive trade measures that disrupt supply chains, while endorsing a Joint Declaration and annexures reaffirming commitment to equitable, rules-based trade. The Declaration warned that climate-related trade measures must not become unjustifiable discrimination or disguised restrictions. India sought a Permanent Solution for Public Stockholding for food security, promoted its "30 for 30" WTO proposal, called for concessional transfer of Environmentally Sound Technologies with financing, and emphasised Digital Public Infrastructure and data economy governance for inclusive digital transformation.
Summary: Threatened imposition of uniform high import tariffs on EU goods unless manufactured in the United States, with a conditional punitive tariff targeting a major electronics manufacturer for products not produced domestically; these unilateral tariff measures are presented as leverage in stalled trade negotiations and to induce onshore manufacturing, and are contrasted with tariff reductions for another trading partner.
Summary: President Trump's public threats to impose large new tariffs on the European Union and on a major technology firm's products caused immediate selloffs in equity futures, declines in Treasury yields and oil prices, and a marked fall in the targeted company's shares; announced import levies intended to shift manufacturing locations can materially affect corporate profitability, consumer pricing, and investor confidence.
Summary: Persons with disability may open account-based relationships; guardianship is recognised where required and intermediaries may rely on a Guardianship Certificate. Both guardian and client must satisfy KYC norms. Digital KYC must be accessible, with intermediaries assisting live video capture and using alternative liveliness checks (facial expressions, head movement, OTP display). Intermediaries may use Central KYC Registry data with consent, capture disability type and percentage, accept thumb impressions on e-signed pages, and require Principal Officer review of accessibility-related automated KYC rejections.
Summary: The Reserve Bank's Central Board approved transfer of Rs 2,68,590.07 crore as surplus dividend for 2024-25 to the Central Government, based on the revised Economic Capital Framework (ECF). The Board increased the Contingent Risk Buffer (CRB) to 7.50% (within the 4.50-7.50% range) and computed the transferable surplus after accounting for this risk provisioning and the macroeconomic assessment.
Summary: Weekly central bank reserve reporting shows a net decline in total foreign exchange reserves, with foreign currency assets rising modestly while gold reserves, SDR holdings and the IMF reserve position fell; the release emphasizes that valuation effects and component-level movements drive week-to-week fluctuations in the composition and adequacy of international reserves.
Summary: President threatened to impose a tariff of twenty-five percent on Apple products unless iPhones are manufactured in the United States, framing the import duty as a compulsory condition for market access. The statement, delivered on social media, leverages trade measures to influence corporate supply chain decisions and follows Apple's plans to shift some production to India amid earlier trade tensions.
Summary: Claims paid ratio is presented as the central regulatory and consumer-protection metric, with the insurer reporting a highest-ever individual death claims paid ratio that establishes a new operational benchmark and underscores sustained claims settlement performance. The firm links this metric to customer-facing promises and performance indicators and describes supporting operational mechanisms-AI-led underwriting, predictive analytics, enhanced fraud controls, expedited claims processing and same-day payouts-alongside persistency and market-ranking measures.
Summary: Negotiations target an interim trade pact to remove or exempt an additional reciprocal tariff and secure duty concessions for specified sectors. India seeks tariff relief for labour intensive exports while the US seeks concessions in select industrial and agricultural products, with product lists and regulatory barriers-particularly GM crop rules-under discussion as part of phased commitments to expand bilateral market access.
Summary: Opposition questioned retaining the Dhule cash recovery investigation within state processes instead of transferring it to the Enforcement Directorate, demanded a public time frame and procedural details for the constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT), and urged registration of a criminal case against the suspended section officer who had booked the guest house room, amid allegations the recovered cash related to attempted bribery.
Summary: Search operations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act were conducted in Delhi NCR and Mumbai in an investigation into alleged large scale investment and homebuyer fraud involving Jaypee Infratech, Jaypee Associates and related entities, targeting alleged diversion of investor and homebuyer funds and seeking documents and material evidencing transactional links among corporate group companies.
Summary: Japan urged the United States to rescind recent import tariffs and proposed an investment-for-market-access approach, pressing that Japanese investment and job creation in the US be advanced as an alternative to the contested duties. Leaders agreed to pursue productive negotiations in upcoming tariff talks and to continue dialogue at an imminent multilateral summit, while ministerial negotiators engage in a third round of discussions in Washington.
Summary: Negotiations aim to secure an interim bilateral trade pact that would address the additional reciprocal duty by pursuing a tariff exemption and sectoral duty concessions for labour intensive Indian exports, while the United States seeks concessions for industrial goods, automobiles (including electric vehicles), wines, petrochemicals, dairy and certain agricultural products; regulatory limits on genetically modified crop imports remain a barrier. Parties target an early July interim deal and a first phase agreement by autumn to expand bilateral trade, using suspension of the additional duty and negotiations on reciprocal removals or phased concessions as operative mechanisms.
Summary: US Treasury yields eased after concerns about growing government debt and congressional fiscal proposals, calming risk sentiment and supporting gains across Asian equity markets. Concurrent oil price declines on anticipated OPEC+ output increases affected energy-sector valuations. Sector moves reflected policy signals: technology stocks led gains while clean-energy shares fell on proposed tax-credit rollbacks in a House bill, and health-care stocks were pressured by expanded Medicare Advantage audits.
Summary: G7 finance ministers and central bank governors committed to address global trade imbalances by monitoring and countering "nonmarket policies and practices" that distort trade-such as export subsidies and currency or industrial supports-while tempering prior free-trade rhetoric and retaining a conditional sanctions framework should parties to the conflict fail to reach a ceasefire.
