Summary: The Act defines terrorist act broadly to include violence or threats aimed at national unity, security, economic stability or public terror, and lists treaty offences and detailed inclusions. It defines proceeds of terrorism as property derived from or intended for terrorism and bars possession. The statute creates a forfeiture regime with notice, representation, hearing, and bona fide transferee protection; empowers Designated Authorities to confirm or revoke seizures; requires prior approvals for seizures; and criminalizes fundraising, support, membership, recruitment, and holding terrorist proceeds with severe penalties.

Summary: The Authority found that a Subway franchisee failed to pass on the GST rate reduction from 18% to 5% (with denial of input tax credit), having increased base prices beyond the calculable impact of denied input tax credit for numerous items; DGAP quantified the excess realization, and the Authority directed commensurate price reduction, deposit of the computed amount into consumer welfare funds with interest, potential penalty liability, and further examination of franchisor charges.

Summary: For 1 April 2020 to 31 December 2020, 283 firms entered CIRP with 76 resolved, 128 closed by withdrawal/appeal/settlement and 189 liquidated; 30 corporate persons were dissolved/sold/compromised under section 230 through liquidation and 59 under voluntary liquidation. The default threshold under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code was raised to one crore, Section 10A temporarily suspended initiation of CIRP for specified COVID-period defaults which remain carved out for initiation purposes, and Section 66 was amended to protect directors from personal liability for COVID-period defaults.
Summary: Sanction for prosecution has been accorded in multiple CSR-related compliance cases, but all CSR defaults are compoundable, and some sanctioned matters have been compounded following applications. CSR governance is Board-driven and disclosure-based, with the Board and its CSR Committee responsible for planning and oversight and with mandatory annual disclosure of CSR expenditure and statutory safeguards including audit and committee accountability.
Summary: Investigations into alleged misuse of corporate structures and fraud have been assigned to the Serious Fraud Investigation Office and Regional Directors, while securities and company law frameworks enable enforcement through exchange levied sanctions, freezing of promoter holdings, suspension or delisting for persistent non compliance, and statutory enforcement powers. The Companies Act, 2013 establishes enhanced corporate governance measures-managerial accountability, audit oversight, disclosure obligations, regulation of related party transactions, director composition rules, whistle blower mechanisms, SFIO powers and auditor duties to report fraud-alongside investor protections including restitution via the Investor Education and Protection Fund, class action remedies, and expanded postal/electronic voting for key corporate actions.
Summary: A significant number of new companies were incorporated while a cohort of companies were struck off under the Companies Act, 2013. Financial statements filed by companies are retained in the public registry for statutory compliance and inspection; the Ministry does not calculate aggregate financial ratios from filed statements and warns that filing delays and defaults make cross year ratio comparisons unreliable.
Summary: Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors Atma Nirbhar Nidhi Scheme provides collateral-free working capital loans with short tenure and conditions for access to enhanced credit tied to timely or early repayment. The scheme offers repayment-linked incentives, notably an interest subsidy and cashback on prescribed digital transactions, and requires socio-economic profiling to determine beneficiaries' eligibility for other welfare programmes and to enable onboarding to e-commerce platforms.
Summary: The Central Government has disbursed co-contribution funds under the Atal Pension Yojana and the scheme provides five guaranteed pension slabs payable from age sixty to eligible subscribers aged eighteen to forty with a savings bank account; the same pension continues to the spouse on the subscriber's death and the pension corpus returns to the nominee if both die. Government co-contribution applies to initial joiners who are not members of statutory social security schemes and are non-income-taxpayers. The Government has implemented multiple measures to boost enrolment, including flexible payment periodicity, digital onboarding and apps, paperless onboarding for existing bank customers, outreach campaigns, grievance mechanisms, and bank staff training.
Summary: Searches by the Income Tax Department revealed systematic generation and concealment of unaccounted income by a manufacturing and trading group, with recovery of off book production accounts, digital records of undisclosed sales, seized cash and bullion, and documentation showing use of Kolkata based shell companies to plough back concealed receipts as high premium share capital and unsecured loans; bogus commodity profit entries and facilitators arranging entries were also identified.
Summary: Taxpayers retain the right to discharge GST liabilities for March 2021 by utilising Input Tax Credit in their electronic credit ledger as permitted by law; reports that officers instructed payment of a maximum tax liability in cash via unauthorised communications are not sanctioned by the Government or the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs.
