<h1>Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project Unit 3 begins commercial operation, adding 250 MW to grid supply</h1> A state-owned developer has declared commercial operation of Unit 3 (250 MW) of the 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project from 01.02.2026. The project, comprising eight 250 MW units and built as a run-of-river scheme with water storage on the Subansiri, is being developed near the AssamArunachal Pradesh border at an approximate cost of Rs 27,000 crore. The declaration places an additional 250 MW into commercial service, advancing project commissioning and increasing the facilitys available generation capacity for grid integration.
