<h1>Govt approves seven Electronics Components Manufacturing projects Rs5,532 crore to cut imports, meet PCB and camera needs, create 5,195 jobs</h1> The government approved seven projects worth Rs 5,532 crore under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme from 249 proposals, covering multi-layer PCBs, camera modules, copper laminates and polypropylene films; four projects are from one group and one each from three other firms. The projects are projected to reduce imports by about Rs 20,000 crore, meet 27% of domestic PCB demand and 15% of camera module needs, and fully satisfy domestic demand for copper laminates and polypropylene films. Cumulative investment proposals under the scheme total Rs 1.15 lakh crore and the approved projects are expected to create 5,195 jobs.
