<h1>Government raises wheat MSP 6.59% to Rs 2,585/quintal for 2026-27; sets record 119 MT production target</h1> The government raised the wheat minimum support price (MSP) by 6.59% to Rs 2,585 per quintal for the 2026-27 marketing year, up from Rs 2,425 for 2025-26, applying the CACP's recommendations and approving MSPs for six rabi crops. The wheat marketing year begins in April, with bulk procurement concluding by June; sowing starts in late October and harvesting from March. The administration has set a record wheat production target of 119 million tonnes for the 2025-26 crop year, versus an estimated 117.5 million tonnes for 2024-25.
