Government launches registrations for new cashless health scheme covering up to Rs 10 lakh per family; health cards issued
The state government will begin registrations on Sept. 23 in two districts for a newly approved scheme providing cashless medical coverage up to Rs 10 lakh per family. The program, approved by the cabinet in July, aims to cover all 65 lakh families in the state at government and empanelled private hospitals, includes over 2,000 procedures, and issues health cards; registration camps (about 128 per district) will run at least 10 days and require basic ID (Aadhaar, voter ID). The rollout includes government, ASHA and anganwadi workers, and the government also announced plans for a new medical college after criticizing a religious board for denying land.
