Established under the Coast Guard Act, 1978, the ICG's mandate includes maritime search and rescue, law enforcement, environmental protection, and coastal security. The report also notes a 42.86% increase in the Coast Guard's capital budget for 2025-26, attributed to enhanced maritime security measures.
