<h1>JSW Energy Secures Contract for 1,600 MW Thermal Power Plant in Competitive Bid, Boosting Capacity to 30 GW</h1> JSW Energy Ltd has been awarded a contract by West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd to develop a 1,600 MW thermal power plant. This greenfield project will consist of a 2x800 MW super/ultra super critical domestic coal-based thermal plant. The contract was secured through a competitive bidding process and will use domestic coal allocated under the SHAKTI B (iv) policy. With this addition, JSW Energy's total generation capacity reaches 30 GW, including 9 GW of thermal capacity, positioning the company to meet its 20 GW target ahead of 2030.
