The company was found to be wrongfully claiming deductions under Section 80JJAA of the Income-tax Act, which incentivizes new employment. Evidence showed that the company manipulated emoluments to fit the eligibility criteria and claimed deductions for employees no longer on its payroll. This led to the detection of income concealment amounting to Rs. 880 crore over several assessment years. Further investigations are ongoing.
