Tax Practitioners Urged to Register Entities Separately on GST Portal to Avoid Data Overlap Issues.
The I-T department has advised tax practitioners to register entities separately on the GST portal to prevent data mix-ups. This issue arises when tax practitioners open multiple browser windows for different taxpayers, causing data to overlap due to cache memory. The CBEC has instructed practitioners to handle one registration at a time and clear cache memory between sessions. Since GST's implementation on July 1, over 69 lakh taxpayers have migrated to the GSTN portal, with nearly five lakh new registrations. Businesses must register by July 30 and use different contact details for different business verticals under the same PAN to maintain data integrity.
