Input service credit.- Reg.

vinay wakde

We are Exporting our process generated waste and discounting the export bills in the Bank under EBR (Export Bills Abroad scheme). We have received Advices from bank wherein service tax to the extent of 12.36% is  recovered from us.

Kindly let us know whether we are entitled to take Input service credit on the strenght of copy of Bank advice?

Regards,

VINAY

Eligibility to Claim CENVAT Credit on Service Tax by Banks for Exporting Waste and Discounting Export Bills Explained A user inquired about the eligibility to claim input service credit on service tax recovered by a bank when exporting process-generated waste and discounting export bills under the Export Bills Abroad scheme. The response clarified that the user could avail of CENVAT credit using the original bank advice since banks are exempt from issuing invoices under Service Tax Laws. If CENVAT credit is not available, the user might still qualify for an exemption or refund. (AI Summary)
