Exploring Duty Drawback and Duty-Free Import Options for Foreign Supplied Parts Under Section 75 of Customs Act, 1962. A query was raised about importing parts supplied by a foreign client for production in India. One suggestion was to import the parts by paying customs duty and then claim a duty drawback under Section 75 of the Customs Act, 1962, when exporting the finished goods. Options include using the All Industry Rate or Brand Rate fixation. Another suggestion was to consider DFIA or Advance Authorisation. Additionally, notification 32/97-Cus allows for duty-free import for job work, provided the product is exported within six months, following specific procedures. (AI Summary)
