Interest Denied on Delayed Education Cess Refund Despite Supreme Court Order; Pending Review Cited Without Stay An individual sought advice on a discussion forum regarding the refusal of interest on a delayed refund of education cess, despite a Supreme Court order favoring the refund. The department cited a pending review petition without a stay as the reason for withholding interest. A respondent provided references to relevant court judgments and circulars that could support the individual's case, including decisions from the Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh High Courts. The original poster expressed gratitude for the assistance provided. (AI Summary)
