Clearance of goods under GST

ashok amin

Dear Experts,

We are having a peculiar problem arising every March ending. The problem is we want to achieve a target and for our accounting year 17-18 we are short of some amount in lakhs. We are in chemical manufacturing and trading business. Some import goods are awaited by us which has to be despatched by 31.03.2018 as per our commitment given to the party. But, the problem is we are getting the material by 12.04.18 or may be later than that. My question is, can we prepare invoices in advance for the yet to be received goods and despatch it on 12.04.18 or the later date as and when we receive the actual goods in hand. Is it feasible under GST law ? Since we have to create e-way bill too, then what will be the status of the e-way bill. Can we extend the e-way bill since I have seen in the portal that we can extend e-way bill too. An early reply is awaited from my dear experts.

Chemical Firm Can't Pre-Issue Invoices for Unreceived Goods Under GST Rules; E-Way Bill Compliance Required A chemical manufacturing and trading business is facing a challenge at the end of their accounting year 2017-18. They need to meet a financial target but are awaiting imported goods expected to arrive after the deadline. They inquired about the possibility of issuing invoices in advance for goods not yet received and dispatching them upon arrival, questioning the feasibility under GST law and the status of e-way bills. An expert responded that such transactions are not permitted under GST rules. (AI Summary)
