Can June 2017 excise return be adjusted post-audit for TRN1 form submission under GST? Revised by July 31, 2017. A user queried whether the closing balance of their June 2017 excise return could be adjusted in light of a recent audit that required reversing a service tax credit, thus reducing the closing balance from 50 lakhs to 45 lakhs. The concern was whether this adjustment would be acceptable when submitting the TRN1 form under GST. One respondent advised that the ER-1 return could be revised until July 31, 2017. The user acknowledged this advice and revised the return accordingly. (AI Summary)
