Is Ex.duty applicable for export?

somasuntharam amp

Hello Sir,

This is Soma from Madurai. I have just started exporting Blood collection tube (medical lab items) to SA.

I purchase from Gujarat manufacturer and export from Mumbai air port. My query is the manufacturer is charging ex.duty and sales tax in my invoice. As per my knowledge no duty or tax will be charged for exporter, right? I do not have any exact proof to convince the manufacturer. So, please clarify/advice me on this. Expecting your reply asap. Thanks

Excise Duty on Exported Goods: Claim Rebate via B-1 Bond and CT-1 Certificate for Duty-Free Procurement A user from Madurai inquired about whether excise duty applies to exported goods, specifically blood collection tubes purchased from a manufacturer in Gujarat and exported from Mumbai. The manufacturer was charging excise duty and sales tax, which the user believed should not apply to exports. Responses clarified that either the manufacturer or merchant exporter can claim a rebate on duty paid. The user was advised to execute a B-1 bond and obtain a CT-1 certificate to procure goods without duty or to claim a rebate on duty paid. The user thanked the respondents for their guidance.
