Transfer of Machine from one branch to other branch purchased under EPCG license

NAUSHERAWAN SM

We are manufacturer and imported machine under EPCG license. The obligation is not completed but want to transfer the said machine to our other sister unit. Let me know the procedure and whether the machine will be cleared on payment of central excise duty on current value or it can be removed without payment of c.excise duty.

Regards,

S.M.Nausherawan

Manufacturer Seeks EPCG Committee Approval to Transfer Machinery Before Fulfilling Export Obligations; Follows Procedural Guidelines. A manufacturer imported machinery under an EPCG license and seeks to transfer it to a sister unit before fulfilling export obligations. Responses suggest applying to the EPCG Committee for permission, ensuring both units are listed in the IEC and RCMC, and obtaining an installation certificate. If the sister unit is not initially included, the company should apply for inclusion and endorsement from the RLA. If transferring without duty payment, approval from the EPCG Committee, DGFT, New Delhi is advised. Another case involves storing equipment at a different location due to space constraints, with similar procedural advice. (AI Summary)
