Inputs export as such - Cenvat Credit implications.

Guest

Dear Sir,

Please advise on Inputs exported as such cenvat credit implications. Can we export such inputs without reversal of credit and such credit can be utilized for payment of excise duty of Domestic clearances.

Request you to please provide the said Excise provisions.

Cenvat credit on inputs exported as such may be retained and used to pay excise duty on domestic clearances. Cenvat credit on inputs exported as such does not require reversal since exports are not subject to central excise, and the credit may be utilized to pay excise duty on domestic clearances; the Cenvat Credit Rules are cited as the governing framework. No need to pay the Central Excise Duty since there is no tax on Exports.Credit can be utilized for payment of excise duty of domestic clearances.

I too of the same view. Credit can be taken to set off against excise duty payable.
