Excise Duty Exemption for Concrete Suppliers: Explore Eligibility Under Notification No. 8/2003-CE for Government Projects. A private company manufacturing ready-mix concrete inquired about potential excise duty exemptions when supplying to government bodies or acting as a subcontractor for government projects. One respondent stated there is no exemption unless specified by a notification. Another highlighted that, under Notification No. 8/2003-CE (SSI Notification), the company may be exempt if its previous financial year's clearance value did not exceed 1.5 Crores or is not expected to exceed this amount in the current year.
