Dear All,
We have a Travel agency in Jaipur and have been exporting services from last 8 years. Last year we got SFIS scrip, Served From India Scheme from the DGFT by which we can either import any capital goods without paying the import duty or get the exemption of excise duty if the goods is produced domestically.
Please help us in importing a car or getting the excise exemption if we go for domestic marks.
Thanks
Narendra SINGH
Served From India Scheme eligibility for capital goods import or excise exemption on vehicles requires policy and procedural compliance. The query asks whether an SFIS scrip can be used to import a car as a capital good or to claim excise exemption on a domestically produced vehicle, noting that SFIS permits either duty-free import of capital goods or excise exemption for domestic manufacture. The correspondent was directed to consult para 3.12 of the Foreign Trade Policy, para 3.6 of the Handbook of Procedures, and the prescribed application form and supporting documents to determine eligibility, definitions of capital goods, and requisite documentation and procedural compliance.
