Pharmaceutical EOU Seeks Clarity on Subcontracting Under Chapter 6: DTA Sales Allowed Up to 50% of FOB Value A 100% Export Oriented Unit (EOU) manufacturing pharmaceutical products seeks clarification on subcontracting rules under Chapter 6 of the Foreign Trade Policy. The unit has permission from Central Excise for gamma radiation sterilization but is unsure about the provision allowing subcontracting up to 50% of the previous year's production value in the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA). A respondent clarifies that while job work is separate, sales in the DTA are allowed up to 50% of the Free on Board (FOB) value. The original poster further inquires about sending semi-finished goods for job work. (AI Summary)
