I have SIS unit cross the sale amount 1 Cr. today....please give us suggestion of excise registration, exemption & rules of excise for new registration.

Understanding Excise Registration: SSI Units Exempt Up to 1.5 Crore; Register After 1.40 Crore Turnover Per Notification 8/2003-CE. A user inquired about the rules for excise registration and exemption after their SSI unit's sales exceeded 1 crore. One respondent clarified that SSI units are exempt from registration and duty payment up to a turnover of 1.5 crore, as per notification no. 8/2003-CE. Another response advised applying for registration once the turnover surpasses 1.40 crore. (AI Summary)
