Non-issuance of TCS Certificate under Section 206 for Royalty Payment Sparks Inquiry on Compliance Issues A query was raised regarding the issuance of a Tax Collected at Source (TCS) certificate under Section 206. The individual stated that they are paying a royalty amount to the Tamil Nadu government, where the tax is deducted at a 2% rate and paid through a bank. However, the deductor has not submitted the quarterly returns to the income tax department and is refusing to issue the TCS certificate to the deductee. A respondent inquired if the issue had been clarified, requesting further information if not. (AI Summary)
