Applications for active company status require Form MSC-4, fees, and a return in Form MSC-3; the Registrar issues Form MSC-5 upon grant. Directors must apply within seven days if dormancy-affecting acts occur. The Registrar may initiate an enquiry where a dormant company appears to be functioning, provide a hearing, and, if confirmed, remove it from the dormant register and treat it as active; the Registrar must also initiate striking off where a company remains dormant for five consecutive years.
