SEZ export permissions allow varied goods subject to classification controls and Board approval for restricted items.

SEZ units may export a wide range of goods and services subject to the Import Trade Control (Harmonized System) classification and prohibitions; exports involving Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies require fulfillment of classification conditions. Imports or exports requiring permissions under other laws need Board of Approval approval. Foreign Trade Policy restrictions on State Trading Enterprises do not apply to SEZ manufacturing units. Exports or supplies of ore from the Domestic Tariff Area are subject to Central Government conditions. SEZ units may import otherwise prohibited items or export prohibited items when those items are used to produce exported goods, subject to Board approval.
