Confiscation of conveyance: vehicles used to transport prohibited imports or exports may be seized unless owner proves lack of knowledge.

Conveyances or animals used, being used, or attempted to be used for transporting goods, materials, or goods connected with services or technology that are imported or meant for export and liable under rule 17 are forfeitable by the Adjudicating Authority unless the owner, agent, and person in charge prove lack of knowledge or connivance and that each took all reasonable precautions. The Authority may permit redemption of a confiscated conveyance or animal used for transport of goods or passengers for hire upon payment of redemption charges equivalent to its market value.
