In the course of the assessment proceedings for the asst. yr. 1987-88 the AO found that there was a balance of Rs. 51,724 in respect of the terminated kuri which had not been taken to the P&L a/c. It was stated that the assessee was consistently following the same method of accounting the profit in kuri account and so the AO was not justified in disturbing that method to make the impugned additions. The learned representative of the assessee added that this method of accounting the profit from terminated kuries on actual realisation basis had been approved by this Tribunal in the case of Popular Kurie Ltd., Trichur in ITA No. 697/Coch/87, dt. 21st Oct., 1992.
