The amendment specifies that a Maritime Commissioner is the Commissioner of Central Excise overseeing one or more ports, airports, land customs stations, or post offices of exportation. This change clarifies the jurisdictional authority of Maritime Commissioners in relation to exportation points. The principal notification was initially published on 26th June 2001 and had been previously amended on 17th June 2003.
