<h1>Government Approves Special Economic Zone for Electronics in Kerala Under SEZ Act 2005</h1> The Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA), a state-owned organization, has proposed establishing a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for electronics industries in Thrikkakara Village, Kanayannur Taluk, Ernakulam District, Kerala, under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. The Central Government, having verified compliance with the Act's requirements, granted approval on August 21, 2006, for the SEZ's development, operation, and maintenance. Consequently, the government officially designates the specified area, including survey number 321 (Part) covering 12.141 hectares, as a Special Economic Zone, as per the notification dated June 13, 2007.
