of <h1>India Notifies New SEZ in Tamil Nadu for Footwear Manufacturing Under SEZ Act 2005 by Cheyyar SEZ Developers Pvt Ltd.</h1> The Government of India has notified a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Mathur and Mangal Villages, District Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, for footwear manufacturing. Initially proposed by a company from the British Virgin Islands, the SEZ is now developed by its Indian subsidiary, Cheyyar SEZ Developers Private Limited. The Central Government approved the SEZ under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, and amended the developer's name. The notified area covers various survey numbers totaling 111.33 hectares. This notification was published in the Gazette of India on April 13, 2007.
